Well, the hydroponic farming system is very much popular these days in comparison with the traditional farming.
Where greenhouse automation systems come in Hydroponic use less amount of water and space. It is also called soilless farming.
You know, that soil-based farming is quite difficult and it requires a lot of machinery, soil, water, pesticides and a number of other things.
Also it depends on the weather, if there is lack of rain then crop become damaged. That results in loss of farmers.
So hydroponic irrigation systems require fewer amounts of water, no pesticides, no herbicides, free to grow anywhere.
This technique is used in several countries all around the world. Initially, it seems like it’s very difficult but as soon as you’re familiar, you understand that it is quite easy.
There are some types of techniques which are used in hydroponic farming:
It is very easy to use as it involves no moving parts, no usage of air or water pumps. Here are wicks that are used to add nutrients and water to the plant zone.
This sort of system is used for smaller plants that require less amount of water. You need to place wick carefully otherwise it can ruin your plants. Also, it is not useful for large plants.
Deep water culture system
It is s also known as DWC. It’s made up of Styrofoam and can float directly on the solution of nutrients.
It’s ideal for the fast-growing water plant, leaf lettuce which contains a continuous supply of water, oxygen, and nutrients. It’s not expensive and you can use easily at home as it requires less maintenance and care.
Nutrient film technique system
They require a constant flow of nutrient solutions; this solution is pumped into a tray. When this solution reaches the end, it comes back to the reservoir and recycled again and again.
In this high-tech setup, roots of the plant are hanged in the atmosphere, because of use of surplus oxygen and mist over the nutrient solution. Additionally, it employs a time management system that runs the pump automatically at regular intervals.
So in case, you want to grow plants or crops in any climate condition or you have no land for farming subsequently hydroponic systems are the ideal option for you. Read this post to know more about hydroponic farming.
